Just like MCAT exam in USA or Canada, in Philippines the students are required to qualify NMAT exam with the required cut off mark in order to seek progression to MD after BS. NMAT is emphasized in order to make the foundation very strong before the students face medical papers in MD. This make the students well equipped to deal with medical papers in a very comprehensive and systematic pattern. This system has helped universities in Philippines to maintain high pass rate in MD. The pass rate of MD in Philippines is much higher than the pass rate of MBBS in Indian medical colleges.
University of Northern Philippines [UNP] is very attractive in terms of quality of medical education and the affordability of fee structure. The tuition fee of private universities in Philippines is much higher than that of UNP. Being a government university, UNP maintains its low fee structure for international students with a social goal towards international communities
